The Effects of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles Addition on Flexural Strength of Cold-cured Acrylic Resin material
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aims: This study investigates the effects of addition magnesium oxide Nanoparticles(MgO NPs) with size (50 nm) on flexural strength cold˗cured acrylic resin. Materials and methods: Forty specimens were made, which divided into four groups (10 for each group) control group (pure without addition), containing 1.25% MgO NPs, 2.5%MgO a 5%MgO test was performed using universal testing machine, FTIR (BRUKER LASER CLASS 1). The statistical analysis done by SPSS program including descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Duncan΄s at p ≤ 0.05. Results: Maximum mean belong to NPs,the minimum belongs 5% NPs. Conclusion: NPs affected cold-cured resin, it improved low concentration but decreased higher concentratios.

Effect of intrinsic pigmentation on the flexural strength of a microwave-cured acrylic resin.
This study investigated the effect of intrinsic pigmentation on the transverse strength of a microwave-cured acrylic resin. Forty transverse strength specimens were fabricated according to ADA specification #12 and divided into 5 groups. No fibers were added to group I (GI, control group); acrylic stain (AS) was added to GII and GIII in concentrations of 0.5 and 1.5% w/w, respectively; acrylic ...

Purpose: Acrylic dentures frequently fracture during service due totheir poor strength characteristics. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of adding 5%, 10% and 15% aluminum oxide powder on the flexural strength, surface hardness of a conventional heat-polymerized acrylic resin. Materials and methods: One of the commonly used conventional heat cure denture base resin (DPI) and hi...

Purpose: The mechanical strength of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) remains far from ideal for maintaining the longevity of denture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Zirconium oxide (ZrO2) nanofillers powder with different concentration (1.5%, 3%, 5% and 7%) on the flexural strength, fracture toughness, and hardness of heat-polymerized acrylic resin. Materials and methods:...
متن کاملEffect of Thermocycling and Polyethylene Fibre Addition on Impact and Transversal Strength of Heat Cured Acrylic Resin Denture Base Material
Background: Heat cured acrylic resin is the most widely used material in the manufacture ofdenture base, but has mechanical properties weakness (transversal strength and impact strength). Alternative to increase the mechanical properties of acrylic resin is the utilization of reinforcing fibre that is polyethylene fibre that has advantage such as good aesthetic, easy to manipulate and increase ...
متن کاملComparative Evaluation of the Flexural Strength of Heat Polymerized Acrylic Resin with the Addition of 8% and 13% Aluminum Oxide Powder: An In-vitro Study
Introduction: Acrylic resins have been used successfully as denture bases. However, acrylic resin denture base materials are brittle and have poor strength and thermal conductivity. Therefore, it is essential to improve the flexural strength of heat polymerized acrylic resin. The present study aimed to evaluate and compare the flexural strength of heated polymerized acrylic res...
